For over thirty years, Rotterdampas has been available as a promotional pass for ‘Rotterdammers’ to do fun things, either for free or with a discount. At various spots throughout Rotterdam, you can enjoy free ice cream, slices of apple pie alongside a cup of coffee or even three-course menus for half the price. And, of course, that’s not all, as sports lessons, beauty treatments and cultural outings are also part of the package.
For more than fifteen of those same years, Tekstschrijvers has been writing mini-advertisement texts for each Rotterdampas promotion. Every month, there are thirty promotions, and around 60 are added every season; in the summer, there is a special holiday passport with 150 promotions for all Rotterdam children, and then another 300 promotions are needed for the yearbook. As you can see, it’s a lot of work! With all the crisscrossing clients, providers and of course the ‘Big Boss’, the municipality of Rotterdam, there is quite a lot to take into account. Planning is therefore made every year, from which we cannot deviate. These mini-ads absolutely cannot not be a sales pitch for any individual business, as all the promotions must revolve around the Rotterdam experience for the Rotterdammer.
Thanks to the long-term relationships we have cultivated with Rotterdampas, we know the exact tone of voice needed. We write in a catchy, playful style, and we work directly in the customer’s CMS. We also know exactly when the briefings come in and when we have to deliver. The turnaround time is therefore very short: two to five days, maximum. We plan our work months in advance, as these hours are truly sacred. And this is the way it has to be, because the designer is the next party in the chain and has his or her own tight deadline to adhere to. And the providers of the promotions should also take a look…
Together we ensure that the offers are online before the start of each month. Or that they can be included in the magazine or yearbook on time.
